Event:  Paint The Town Pink Fundraiser

Chapter:  Beta Phi Omega Chapter, Galveston, Texas

Event Description:  You are cordially invited to "Paint the Town Pink" with the    Rhinestone Cowgirls.  The event will be held Saturday, July 7, 2007, from 8:00 pm until 1:00 am at the Old Central Cultural Center, 2627 Avenue M, Galveston, Texas.

 

This Denim and Diamonds Zydeco is a fundraising activity for youth scholarships and  

community projects. Music will be provided by Raymond Frand, Zydeco DJ.  Features

include a complimentary taste of Louisiana cuisine and door prizes.  The ticket price per

Event:  21st Annual Mardi Gras Masked Ball

Event Description:  You are cordially invited to come "Walk the AKA Plank with the Sorors by the Sea."  The Mardi Gras Masked Ball will be held Saturday, February 10, 2007 from 9:00 pm until 1:00 am at the Moody Gardens Hotel, Spa, and Convention Center's Floral Ballroom, Seven Hope Boulevard, Galveston, Texas. 

Features include a live band, silent auction, treasure hunt, and complimentary lavish breakfast buffet.  Attire for the gala is semi-formal or costume with mask.  Ticket cost is $50 per person.  For additional information, please contact Soror Maggie Williams at 409-744-1491 or maggie08@juno.com.

Event Description:  You are cordially invited to attend the 25th Anniversary Celebration of Xi Alpha Omega Chapter, "A Treasure of Pearls."  The event will be held Sunday, December 10, 2006 at the Downtown Aquarium, 410 Bagby Street, Houston, TX 77002.

Event Description:  Come and "Paint the City Pink" with the New Orleans' undergraduate chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. as we honor those who are fighting the battle against breast cancer, at this year's Pink Ribbon Gala.

 

The event will be held on the campus of Xavier University of LA in the University Center Ballroom beginning at seven o'clock. The night will include a presentation by members of Sisters Network, Inc.: An National African-American Survivorship Organization, a special tribute to breast cancer survivors, dinner, and dancing. Upsilon Lambda Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. to host annual Heritage Tea

Please join Upsilon Lambda Omega chapter as they are "Advancing the Knowledge of African-American Women" by hosting the annual Heritage Tea.

This year's event will focus on "Making Success Your Business".  They will have a professional panel of speakers address the audience with information on how to start a new business as well as enhance an existing business.The event will be held from 2 PM to 4 PM on Saturday, September 16, 2006 in the Bluebonnet room at the DeSoto Civic Center.  The address is 211 East Pleasant Run Road, DeSoto, Texas.  This is a free event, but seating is limited.  Please RSVP no later than September 9, 2006 by sending an email to HeritageTeaRSVP@aol.com or by calling 214-450-9339.

Mary Elizabeth Scott - Ivy Beyond The Wall

Mary Elizabeth Scott, Golden Soror, Life Member and the 11th Basileus of the Beta Psi Omega

chapter in Austin, TX passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2006. 

 

I am proud to state that the members of the Beta Psi Omega chapter took personal

responsibility for her care for the final eight months of her life.  Chapter members insured that

she received adequate medical attention, and remained with her 7 days a week.  We are

proud to have been blessed by the love, leadership, and commitment of Soror Mary E. Scott

- a treasured and respected Soror, christian, educator, and community leader.

 

Services were held Friday, August 11, 2006 at 6:00 pm at Huston-Tillotson University in

the King-Seabrook Chapel, and Saturday, August 12, 2006 at 11:00 am at Ebenezer Baptist

Church.  The members of the Beta Psi Omega chapter coordinated the wake service.  If you
